The NPR show On The Media had a challenge for National Novel Writing Month: Write a novel in 12 word or less.

A couple examples:
"Six words into his first novel, Sam's lonely wife murdered him."

"Obituary. First five words free, she thought. Charles dead. Yacht for sale."

The orginal challenge with many, many posted entries is here: http://onthemedia.org/episodes/2007/11/09/segments/88671

The 12 winners chosen are here: http://www.onthemedia.org/transcripts/2007/11/23/07

Enjoy.

Comments

12 words.

"She realized too late that his decision had been the wrong one."

"Phoebe couldn't put her finger on why she stood at the urinal."

"His obstetrician's 'Congratulations; It's a girl!' had a double meaning to Bob."

"Anne left Andy's mother a note explaining why he had to leave."

"Dwayne thought Sammi was the prettiest in the cell block, even before."

"Freida Rogers decided never to return from the Neighborhood of Make Believe."

(This challenge seems almost as much fun as Bulwer-Lytton.)
