Well, that is the Shrewsbury festival over for another year; source of so much of my inspiration. Some wonderful music, old friends popping out of the woodwork, and very sore fingertips on my left hand. Last year I played so much and so enthusiastically I snapped a plectrum; this year, I just broke a string on the last evening.

Already planning next year! I will try to remember to print off all my train tickets this time, rather than just the cycle reservations...

That just takes the biscuit!

Sounds like you had a good time.

Didn't even know it was possible to print just part of a reservation mind you I usually collect my tickets from the station or buy on board. Hope it wasn't too much hassle.

Online booking

The trip being so long, it is cheaper to book online and in advance. The trouble is that Virgin make it almost impossible to book a cycle reservation online, so you book, get the 'collection code' for the station ticket machine by e-mail, THEN ring their office so they can do a manual cycle reservation, which comes with another collection code.

Shrewsbury - must be the old english word meaning "amazing".

"Reach for the sun."
