Life kinda sucks when you can't write

I want to apologize to my readers for my absence. It's not that I don't want to write, it's that I can't. To give a bit of background, my wife moved out a few months ago, causing not only a financial drain, but an emotional one as well. To make things worse, I wrecked my car and had it in the shop for a little over a month. In the mean time, my only reliable transportation has been a bicycle, so many days I would have to wake up at 6:30 in the morning, ride 10 miles to be at her place to watch the kids untill I had to ride 10 miles to work, get off at midnight and ride 5 miles home. Needless to say my body has been exhausted. On the bright side, I now have my car back ($5,000 later and I still owe 800) so I have a little more time and a lot less exhaustion. However, most of my time by myself I use to dress up (which is one of the MANY reasons she has used for moving out), and that puts me in a cleaning mood. I'm not saying that I think cleaning is a woman's responsibility, but I think it activates that part of my brain that wants nice and pretty things.

I do have an outline for the next chapter or two of Holly Potter, I just need the rest my body demands so I'm not falling asleep at the keyboard or typing endless drabble. So again, I'm sorry for making you wait so long but I hope at least you understand the reason as to why.

Real life gets in the way of all of us

so please don't worry about your muse taking a hike without you. I wrote lots and lots in February. I wrote nothing worth a second glance in April. The only productive thing I did was some editing but even then, my mind was not really dedicated to it.

Since the beginning of this month, I have written the opening scenes to two stories. How far they will go is anyone's guess but at least I am writing again.

Your muse could return from its vacation just when you least expect it. From my experience, the more you worry about it, the longer it stays away. Stay in there and get on with life while you wait for inspiration.

even worse - my muse went for a walk in February and still hasn't returned - i just got a postcard with some ideas jotted down!

A break is as good as a rest as they say - on the muse' return i'm sure we'll all be firing on all 12 cylinders again!

I know how that is

I wanted to use April to get a bunch of writing projects done but with the breakup and trying to figure out where my life is going to go from here and how I'm going to afford it I've been an emotional mess and I just haven't had the mental focus to do much writing-wise. The stuff I've been putting on Patreon is stuff that was already written but unposted and now I'm trying to get my brain back in writing form so I can get some work done and get my mind off how screwed up my life is right now.

*big hugs*

Don't take me too seriously. I'm just kitten around. :3

Happy and healthy

I like my authors, especially my favorite authors, to be happy and healthy. I'll happily and patiently wait for new chapters.

(And if you believe the part about being patient, could I interest you in buying the scrap metal from a bridge in Brooklyn? Grin)

This raises a few questions.

This raises a few questions. Is this scrap metal from "the" Brooklyn bridge? Are you authorized to sell me scrap metal from the aforementioned bridge? What condition is the scrap metal in? What kind of price would I be getting? After paying for shipping would it be cheaper to just buy local? How much scrap metal are you selling? Do I need that much scrap metal? Do I even need any scrap metal at all?

Now I'm all questions and I have no answers... At least I kept myself entertained for a few minutes, so thank you for that.

Giggle.

I just saw this for the first time. One of these days I'm going to start remembering how to notice when someone replies to one of my comments. I have figured out now and then how to do this and then forget again.

Thanks. This added a little cheer to my day.
