My latest book published on Amazon is my tenth, and in many ways, it was one of my most ambitious.

In all of my books I have tried for a mixture of published stories and new material, and to be honest the first couple of books (“Friendship and Agony and other Romances” and “Romance and other Risky Endeavors”) lacked real theme. That changed with “Misfortune and Other Romance of the Old West” which were all stories written for the book with the exception of “Indian Red” and “Frontier Bride” – old stories that fitted. “Misfortune” remains my top seller perhaps because of its curious merging of Western novella with transgender fiction.

I have tried to stick closer to my themes since then. “Romance ang Other Accidents” all involved accidents, “Romance in Disguise” was all about hiding or deceiving, in “Romance and Other Crimes” all stories had a criminal element and “Objects of Art and Other Romances” … well, I tried.

My eight book was all war stories as it seemed to me I had a few, but “Romance and Other Battlefields” was another book that saw me sit down and write half of the book from scratch, trying to spread the tales beyond WW2. The same with “Romance and Other Faraway Places” – I had six published stories that fitted this theme and I needed to sit down and write another six.

But with “Space and Time for Romance” I had very little in the way of Science Fiction. It was not really my thing as I tend towards stories rooted in reality to allow my readers the more tantalizing fantasy of possibility. But Erin is a SciFi buff and persuaded me to take to my screen and write this one and the key underpinning novellas “The Doll Factory” and “Mothership”.

Even if you think that you know my material well, I urge you to take a look at this book, which is a little outside what I normally do.
