What has happened to Erin's Quick and Easy Picks? They were such an improvement on what we had and are sooooo useful, giving helpful info such as total votes and new comments. Please may we have them back?

I was asked by at least a dozen people if could, "Please, PLEASE..." reignite the Shortcuts! and not everyone will be able to be pleased by every change initiated. If you look though, the Quick 'n' Easy Picks are still there, just under the cut where Shortcuts! was during my absence.

I've moved the QnEZ picks up to the header menu, last line. Well, they're still under the fold on Shortcuts, too. This was my plan for when Edeyn came back.

I like both the short cuts and the quick 'n easy and am happy to see you back too Edeyn! :)
But I'm not sure what you mean by the "cut". They have disappeared from my screen and aren't anywhere on the first 3 pages. Would it be possible to put links to the 3 kinds of Quick'nEasy somewhere in the Shortcuts box? To me, at least, the two seem to serve 9slightly) different purposes, and I don't think it would be a redundant repetition.

Shortcuts
I appreciate the effort that goes into creating and maintaining the shortcuts and that other members like them, but personally I don't find them very useful. They also take up so much room that I can only just see the top of the first story on my desktop PC..
It would be really useful if we could have an option to show or hide them, but I would understand if that was not possible.

I like the other view
"Erin's Shortcuts" was nice for no other reason than I could check several times a day and see imediately what was new since I was last there.
Sorting them alphabetically while it speeds up finding stuff you're following... doesn't help when the new stuff is peppered in the midst.
My opinion.

I Like Erin's Quick & Easy…
…Picks because they give a much more complete picture than Shortcuts. With Q&EP one can see at a glance which stories are new, or have been updated, if there any new comments and also the number of votes each has received. This latter is is particularly useful in the absence of the Daily Voting in the LH column. It strikes me that Erin's Q&EP offers us so much more that Shortcuts.
The other thing I have against Shortcuts is that it takes up too much space on a front page that is already overcrowded.
