This is a very interesting sci-fi story about a plague that is caused by gender-changing nanobots. I just read through it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think you all will also.

SF and gender issues

Here's a (small) list of science fiction related to gender issues: (on dpsinfo (dot) com slash essays slash sfinfo -- I'm not allowed to post links) from Laurie Mann (she mentions John Varley's short story "Persistence of Vision", but not "Steel Beach" and its predecessor "The Ophiuchi Hotline" -- which I highly recommend -- and its sequel "The Golden Globe").

A post by Cheryl Morgan about 'transgender themes in science fiction' on bilerico dot com under transgender_themes_in_science_fiction .

Cool Story,

Thanks, Joy. That would be a good future. No more patriarchy. No more second class status for anyone not a straight male in the majority religion of er culture.

Very Kewl!

The Gender Plague

Many thanks for reading (and enjoying) this story, and everybody in this community who checked it out.

Do feel free to say something in the story's comment section: as you know, Bob(ette), writers love feedback.

Also, feel free to check out the other stories on DayBreak Magazine: I've put up 4 so far, and have quite a few more to come, to be published on every second Friday. However, the theme is upbeat, near-future SF, not transgender issues (although these do sometimes form part of a story: check out a story I've got lined up for Christmas Day called "Fembot").

Thanks again,
