From the responses and such from Vampyre and On a Hot Summers Night. I'm going to go with my instincts and honestly say horror and stuff isn't my strong suit. I'm going to go back to writing my usual stuff.
For those who liked the side stories and such I'm really glad you did but i'm going to try to get back to my regularly scheduled programming.

Lol

Consdering my usual output, you think that "Playtime" was my normal thing? It is great, every so often,to wrte something for fun. Now, I have some critics here, They are shuffling their jaws....

No not your usual fare.

But it was really well done and I feel a better attempt at mine. I do really like Viewpoints though.

I hope I wasn't ( partly ) responsible

Horror is not MY thing, but your 'On a Hot Summers Night' was quite enjoyable. So if you feel you'd like to write more in this non-TG-mainstraim ( heh. Like that actually exists.. ) furry tale, please do so.

Your 'usual' fare is quite strong and intense already, so adding a little tail or the pointy teeth won't make much of a difference. It's still the skill that's most important. And you've shown that in spades.

It's a bit like baseball. One out of three is a major success. I'm not keeping track, but you are certainly doing much, much better than that. In fact .... Hell, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep writing.

and then again

Maybe some of it is due to the influx of stories and people haven't really had time to read them yet. I have only read one of the Halloween stories so far. I'm that far behind.

To each her (and his) own

The really difficult thing for me was not to switch to horror, but to produce work to a tight timescale (or even a loose one!). Most of my stories evolve in a gentle way, with plenty of time for the inspiration to be nurtured. Typically a story will take 2-4 months from idea to publication. I found writing the Demon of Fallen Angels for the Halloween competition just hard slog, forcing myself to write lots every day, and then cutting most of the rubbish I'd already written!

Only when the end was in sight did the inspiration come to produce an ending that surprised me as much as it hopefully did for the reader.

I'm going to disagree

Just a tiny bit. :-)

I happen to think that Vampyre and On a Hot Summers Night were very good stories. I can see that you might think they aren't up to the level of your other work. They certainly are different, that's for sure.

If you were to write more of them, I'm sure no one would complain... :-D

Janice

I'm with Janice here

For example, I am curious as to how the new Alpha's life will proceed. Her betrothed was... understanding at least, back when she was still a he and was not betrothed yet, and that shows him from a better side than the pack members. Would he prove himself dateable, and give some space maybe, or maybe it was all a facade?

Then there is the (in)sane Vampyre. Hmmm, it was said she was capable of holding AIDS at bay, at least, and was transformed by the sire. There is a potential of an, ahem, 'healing bite', as in, 'healing grievious bodily harm bite'...

So I won't complain in the least if you proceed! Quite the contrary, I will complain if you won't! :D

Okay...Wow!

Thanks to everyone for the really nice, really nice things said about Vampyre and On a Hot Summer Night. I really didn't think they were all that. Vampyre came out in like a few hours at work no less and I mentally shut down with the other one and it took me nearly two weeks to write which drove me nuts.

I can only write one thing at a time, no matter how much I'd like to do other work. It just tweaks my OCD issues.

Faraway- I love the thoughts that run through that brain of yours, I'll probably at sometime write more about Stevie and Dom. It's not really said but Dom isn't a member of that pack, He betrothed to her from another pack and he's from Hungary I'm thinking.

As to the Alicia being able to stave off AIDS and the healing. She feeds by eating the essence from the blood majik link. In basic terms life force energy. A skilled Vampire can feed off of diseased cells in the blood or closely related to it. In a sense she takes bits of it into herself and her vampire regeneration powers get rid of it.

Healing a major trauma with a bite won't work because she is eating the disease. Wounds don't work like that. She can charge up her blood with healing, regenerative essence and bleed into a wound and cause the person to regenerate for a short time.

That's dangerous because it's using her blood and power to do that weakening her. Or any vampire in my setting.

About these

Well, it actually was said that Dom is a member of the other pack, and it was a political arranged marriage. What I meant is that he, unlike Katie's pack members, was never shown as overly violent or possessive. More like benign indifference, despite knowing that Steve was pining for none other than his betrothed. I got this idea that he was a patient kind, the one you actually don't want to get upset at you EVER. :)

Okay, that explains that about Alicia and curative properties... That probably means that she's also unable to properly heal a really far-gone disease. I mean, if there's little to no healthy cells left, then this would only remove the worst effects, still leaving the person to recuperate. Like the chemo of sorts, only with less unpleasant (or different unpleasant) side effects.

P.S. I still have no idea why you think your horror stories aren't good enough. If you believe the kudo count, they get on average 80% of what you got with an average Evanescence chapter (save 1 and 2 - I think kudos back then were still not implemented...). Sure it's not as much, but it's only an intro. And you know what they say about practice! :)

I don't know how

you get these figures I can't get kudos counts on individual stories, I just have this total number in my account section near the bottom. I'm not doubting your numbers because you like well wicked smart and stuff. You make me think or rethink things everytime we talk so.
Point taken and I'm going to seriously consider keeping a fang and a paw in things.

Bailey Summers

Ummm. The individual story kudo count

Ummm. Open the story. Go to the top of the page. Look in right corner topside.
