Hi, I'm having sporadic computer issues (I think I overloaded it) so while it's up, I thought I would let anyone looking for me know, I'll try to be on, but I'm downloading a bunch of files to DVD discs so that I can free up some memory. I have a 500G backup, but I don't know how to use it!
I've decided to rewrite my stories Together/Together Again. I read them last night, thinking I'd add a few chapters. Yuck! I almost hate to admit I wrote them! I'll leave them up, in case someone wants to see what I did in the past, but I still like the characters, and I want to do some justice to them. Thanks to those who read them initially (you were so kind!). I'll do better!

The writing wasn't THAT bad

The writing wasn't THAT bad Wren... It could have been better, sure, but there's always room for improvement in a writers craft. The question isn't can it be improved - that's always yes, but is it worth improving? Of course only the original writer can say that for sure.

Regardless, I will probably read your re-writes. I've read the originals. I'll be sure to tell you what I think once you get them up!

I didn't comment on your originals because I hadn't joined the site yet when I read them... I think it was one of Randalynn's that pushed that button for me.

Oh, and good luck with the computer... Frustrating hunks of metal they can be. We'll be here.

back up

if your not using the back up just copy everything to it. then if the primary crashes it never hurts to have copies that are not on your primary hard drive.
good luck.

flash drive

it should act like a great big flash drive.
the back up feature is usually software that comes with it.
you should be able to access it from you windows explorer menu and access it or copy it back to your main computer.
hope that helps

return

Figure out what you have named the drive or whatever the default is.... f, g, h, etc. Open my computer, double click the drive and it will open to display all that is there. Double click it to open and read or even play a stored movie. To move it back, highlight it and tell it to copy or move to drive c or desktop or wherever you want it.

Back up

It should plug into a USB port, after you plug it into the wall. Your desktop etc should recognize it as new and go through whatever process it needs, just like a flash drive, If it does not pop up on the screen, open MY Computer and find it, name it what you will by going to properties on the drive. Then just highlight you files and tell them to move to the new drive, or drop and drag them, which will just copy them over, and you would need to go back and delete them from the master to get rid of them. Don'r forget to empty the trashcan when done, and then run defrag and check disk to write over it all and make sure it is gone, and free for other use.
