Some words of wisdom

I'm thinking about being more vocal about subjects as I enter the world of public speaking, focusing on equality and acceptance. Here are some of my messages for those who are struggling:

1) If life isn't going the way you want it, don't expect the world to change for you.
2) If you want the world to be a better place, I suggest rolling up your sleeves and getting to work.
3) Whining about why things aren't going your way isn't going to change them, but making a plan and seeing it through will.
4) The love of money may be the root of all evil, but so is the love of self.
5) If I had a nickel for every time a person said if I had a nickel for something, I still couldn't afford to drink at Starbucks.
6) Love is the only commodity that will double every time you invest it.
7) Love thy neighbor as they self doesn't work so well for a sadomasochist.

Keep a look out for more quips and quotes from your new leader, and I might chime in every now and again too.

Speaking publically about gender issues

Katie,I admire your grit. Public speaking is usually a really tough assignment. Even if they don't allow questions then, there will always be those who catch you afterwards and put your feet to the grill.
The world needs you and all those like you to enlighten the masses. Courage girl and take someone to guard your back no matter how foolish you think that is or how receptive you think the audience might be. Safety in numbers even if it is just a number two.

If I had a nickel

Yeah, inflation has made that saying from my youth in ineffectual. Some years ago I began saying, "If I had a dollar," even that's not working in all situations.
