I have begun the process of adding my TG centric works to Kobo, a company founded in 2009 that has become a world leader in eReading. The charm of Kobo is that they publish in a format that allows a person to use any platform. The following is from their website.

There are drawbacks when publishing here. The categories a writer can classify their work under is quite limited. There is no 'Transgender' subcategory. I've written them, but it seems there is not much of an interest at present to change that. Oh well, nothing is perfect, yet.

Adding book to Kobo and others.

I write in another genre and have opted to publish through Smashwords. Once your book goes "premium" it is available on Kobo and 14 other major outlets. To be "premium" simply means that the book is properly formatted with a cover and that you supply a long and a short synopsis.

I don't promote my book very much and still have managed nearly $100 worth of sales (35% of $0.99 per) in the last year with 4 titles on offer. (two sales were on Kobo)I also publish on Amazon direct as well. I have about the same results with them.
