For those of you who read the books. It looks like this first movie follows book one faithfully. I see all sorts of snotty reviews but the movie is good, I think it appeals to me because of my own very twisted nature. I would want to be Anastasia and would be happy about some limited spanking, though going overboard not so much.

Welcome to my world.

Well...

From the reviews I have read about that movie, the sex scenes are not the main complaint. It is the overall context of the movie that is the main complain. That context being that a woman being sexually dominated is suppose to be empowering for that woman.

And if that is the actual message for that movie, than that type of conflicting message is a legitimate concern. Being dominated in any aspect of one's life is not empowering. Overcoming domination is empowering, but not being dominated.

51 Shades of BLACK !

Go look at what I write. It comes from my heart. People get pissed because I try to discourage them from transitioning. Pain and abandonment is all I had for the first 5 years after and I want to spare people the pain.

So, the kinky fuckery appeals to me because I so desparately need to be wanted and comforted and held and loved, and if it takes my suffering pain to get it then I deserve it.

Again, welcome to my world.

= Give everyone the benefit of the doubt because certainty is a fragile thing that can be shattered by one overlooked fact.

I haven't seen the movie, but...

To me, the books aren't really about a BDSM relationship.

To me they are about a woman and a man, very much in love with each other, trying to build a relationship. He is heavily into BDSM, while she is not - not that she cannot derive sexual pleasure from it, but she is much too independent and strong willed to live that life-style. In an effort to build a relationship, they try to work out some kind of middle ground.

In that light, I don't really need any heavy sex scenes in the movie or the book for that matter.

Well, that's one of my interpretations.

Bingo !

I think you got it in one. Lots of people do not understand the movie, or it is unappealing to them.

Lots of people are seeing the movie. The theatre I was in last night was very full. And, listening to women around me talk of it. :)

I seriously don't see a problem. I mean, it's just a colouring book. On par with 12 Colours of the Rainbow

My Boobs.

My Boobs are as nice as hers.

I could do and may enjoy anything they did in the story if I could give myself permission to have intercourse, and it was behind the curtain of a lawful, contracted marriage full stop!

50 Shades of Grey

As a kid I recall fondly memories of 50 shades of grey - only back then we called it...television. Ha!

Sorry, I couldn't help it.
