To be fair... the last 20 days even the authors/staff have been unable to login. So, confirming your email addy wasn't exactly a priority. :)
And... now that the forums are back up? Warren will be the one you want to chat with... he handles all the new account stuff. He's the grumpy one over there with the chainsaw raised over those IP addies from China...
