Obviously you can tell by the title I am NOT happy about this and for multiple reasons. As someone who prefers buying physical for the superior presentation of the product and the fact that Funimation(owned by Sony) is severely OVERCHARGING to draw people to buy the digital product especially when they cut deep sales on Xbox Live(and likely other places). A product that is questionable that you have ANY right to ownership now given how Sony will be removing Studio Canal digital titles from people's purchased library. Then there's the fact I worry being a digital file they will censor the product whenever they feel like as I don't believe there is anything in the terms of purchase or EULA that exempt this behavior in any way.
The taking down of titles in your Playstation library in Austria should be a red flag to buy physical, even if there's no Blu-ray or 4K copy. I'd rather be stuck with a standard definition DVD that hasn't been tampered with than a beautiful HD download if the latter is not a complete product. I don't consider the latter that if they have tampered with it. This same case scenario applies to Anime series or movies. Heck part of the reasons OVA's were likely made were to get rated R content(even non Hentai) stuff that TV wouldn't air at the time. I mean they released to only be rented in video stores there.

If you buy a product you

If you buy a product you should have complete control over it (where you store it, when you play it, on what device you play it and, of course, nobody else than you (or people authorized by you) have access and control over it. If one of these points is violated then it should count as a K.O. criteria for purchase. Otherwise you might wakeup one morning and see that your media library is gone for phony reasons (bankruptcy, censorship, forbidden region, other bullshit).

Xbox made their TOS.

Basically so if your digital up and disappears one day on the server for redownload you're screwed which is why I kept my digital games on console and never deleted them.
There was already a debacle with Sony losing people's game licenses then they asked people where the receipts were but this was YEARS after they bought their games so always keep the receipts I guess.
