"Depression is such a cruel punishment. There are no fevers, no rashes, no blood tests to send people scurrying in concern. Just the slow erosion of self, as insidious as any cancer. And like cancer, it is essentially a solitary experience. A room in hell with only your name on the door."

Knock knock!

Just thought I'd look in and say hello. I used to live in hell, the paediatric ward at the end of the corridor.
Can't stop long but I've brought some fruit.
Sympathy-oranges, hug-apples and kiss-pears. Sadly, as we all know, the only person who can cure depression is one'self. However, talking sometimes helps but the main element of cure is realising you've got depression and then accepting that you have to take each day as it comes. I know that sounds trite but somedays you just don't want to do stuff and you have to accept the fact that all you want to do is sit and do nothing.
I'll call tomorrow to see how you're doing.

Beverly.

Growing old disgracefully.
