Hello BCTS,

I guess I am writing this in letter format as it seems to be a little more formal that way. Things took a severe detour for me a few months ago. I was asked not to write Tg fiction any more by my wife. It is probably the hardest thing that I have ever been asked to do by anyone. I truly love to write, and I love all of you here at BCTS. The problem exists, however, that this woman who I love feels truly uncomfortable with people knowing her as intimately as some of my writing allows. She is a very private person, and feels that I expose too much of myself, and others, when I write this type of fiction.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with her on some points.

The problem I have, however, is that there are no other communities out there like BCTS. I've looked. Nowhere is there this sense of togetherness that is so prevalent here.

So, I have a humble request of the people here. Would you mind if I posted my non-TG fiction here? I love the feedback I have recieved here and feel it makes me a better author. I can write without that...but it really is something I miss. It also keeps me writing. Just like certain characters (none my own) on this site, I am very unsure of my own abilities. When I lie awake at night, my self doubts plague me.

Regardless, I only ask because I value your opinions.

I guess this letter to you all has another purpose as well. I'm going to be removing my TG fiction from this site over the next couple of months. I love everything that you've all said about it, and enjoyed all of your responses, but I do have to take it down. I wanted to let you all know first so that you could get a copy of it, if you wanted. Please, do not post my works anywhere else. They are a piece of myself. They are, in a sense, my children. I am fine with them finding nice private homes, but they do not need to be exploited.

I will not be continuing the stories that are unfinished here, and would appreciate no one else attempting to finish them. Call it a bit of selfishness I am entitled to.

I do love you all, and hope that I don't offend any of you with my decision. I still feel a part of this community. I'm sorry.

Craig, the Faeriemage.

It's a pitty though, I am a huge fan of 12-string...

I'll miss your stories, but I can understand where you're coming from.

I hope your non-tg fiction will be as interesting :--)

When it all comes down to it...

We all have to do what we have to do. It happens and all you can do is move in the directions that life dictates. I do understand, though I too, will miss some of your stories. You have a very good reason for not continuing, one that I couldn't even start to fault. And of course I would read your non-TG stuff.

All my best in whatever you decide and do here.

As long as you have one TG story posted to the site, you qualify as a TG author and so all of your writings are welcome. This is why I have the Non-Transgender category in the genres. :)

= Give everyone the benefit of the doubt because certainty is a fragile thing that can be shattered by one overlooked fact.

I believe...

I believe you would be welcome to post non-TG fiction... I used to, myself. If you check, the site is for TG fiction and fiction by TG authors. As an "established" author of TG fiction, I think you qualify to post anything you like.

If you pull your TG fiction (and I believe you will - you said you would, after all) I'd suggest parking it some where. You never know. There may be the snowball's chance you might want or need it again some day. Better to have parked it (say google docs) off your computer, etc. than to have it hanging around tempting you.

I agree this is generally a very good community where most criticism is gentile and helpful.

I'm so sorry for you, hon.

I understand her reasons, but it stinks that you have to hold back a part of yourself. I look forward to your non-tg fiction.

Go ahead and write

I may or may not read it, but that is not meant as a snipe. I will read a good story, a story that interests me, whether or not it is 'specialist'. It is the storytelling, the tale, the skill that attract me.

I'm very sorry to have you

I'm very sorry to have you pull your TG fiction from the site, but, I certainly understand that your relationship with your wife is more important. I look forward to reading your non TG fiction. You write interesting characters!

It's sad that my beloved 'What was Lost' series will no longer continue, but I support your decision and wish you happiness.

I'm going to miss all of my stories, actually. Like I said, they're my children, in one sense. I will really miss not finishing some of them, as well. Maybe, someday...

We'll see. We will see. I make no promises, however, and someday won't be anytime soon.

Rereading one of your stories yesterday, Birthday Wishes.

It is one of those stories that touched me deeply.

I hate that you have to make such a decision, but I do understand. Please back them up carefully, once off the grid anything can happen to them.
