Hey everyone!
So as the title of this blog reads, we are looking for programmers.
We have started looking into the next upgrade for BigCloset and we are looking at various options. There is of course, the upgrading of BigCloset to Drupal 7 or even Drupal 8, but we are also giving consideration to moving to another CMS like Typo3 or even possibly coding our own in PHP/CodeIgniter or even Ruby.
What we are looking for is people experienced in working on large projects, willing to put in a decent amount of work. Ruby, PHP, JavaScript and even Python would all be useful languages to know in this endeavor.
Right now we are in the planning and exploring stage, and will at some point be putting together a formal investigatory team to see what our real options are, and how long it would take us to develop something on our own. If you would like to donate something other than money to BigCloset, this would be a good way to do it.

If only...
...I'd kept my coding skills up to scratch since leaving uni a decade ago :)
Even Java (the primary language taught) has moved on a bit since v1.2 (where Swing and JAAS were the new bits, and Sun Micros was still around).
Good luck with your endeavour - given the complexity of this site (and the vast number of modules in use), it's going to be an interesting project for the coders involved. At least, because we're a fairly civil bunch, you won't have much swearing and cursing when it's eventually been developed enough for the first round of UAT (User Acceptance Testing) :)

I would be interested in helping
I have experience in PHP, Symfony and MySql. I have started to learn Drupal, but it is a slow process. I have been focusing more on learning the C++ Witty library (Wt) for my current project because Drupal seems to have much slower response times than I prefer.
I have managed some decent size projects, as well as participating in a few international ones. I prefer SVN for my SCM, but am not opposed to using git.
I use to work in C++, Perl, Java, and Javascript as well. And I am not opposed to learning Ruby or Python. It only took me a month to pick up C#, though I really do not want to use it again.
I was hoping to hear from more of us geek girls out there.
Reagrding your job vacancies
I know, I know (just how much information I am about to give away)
I can talk in Fortran, Cobol, RPG II, Assembler, PL/I, JCL, HTML, Basic, Java, Natural, various scripting languages, Predict, have some experience of Drupal, was a programmer, programmer/analyst, systems analyst, project leader, project manager, department head and IT director for various companies!!!!!
Not entirely sure that I meet your criteria though.

Considering...
Considering I do content management systems for a living (and have been since the mid '90s)... I designed/was chief architect on one for a major pharma company (about 36 person years of development went into it...) using SQL Server, ASP, Verity, etc... But, for the last dozen years I've been using commercial products (which I'm sure are WAY out of BCTS's price range) So my skillset would be VERY limited beyond the requirements/design phases.
If you'd like me to critique the design that's decided on, feel free to contact me. And, if you'd like some suggestions on managing a distributed development team, let me know.

Skill sets, and Experience
While MS Server 2012 and MS SQL Server aren't out of the picture, I have no experience in ASP or other .Net languages. We are looking at, and willing to spend a bit of money for something that will scale and not become a money pit, paying for every little upgrade, but we are looking for something fairly specific to our current needs, while allowing us to take the site where we think it needs to go to thrive as it has.
Pressflow, the CMS we use now, that is based on Drupal powers some very heavy sites, and is a very professional product, even if it doesn't cost $$$. You may know some of the companies like BestBuy, NBC-Universal, iVillage, Bravo, Edutopia and others.
Even just at the requirements and planning stage or even development overview, your skills could be very valuable to us. Sometimes the key to not going insane while doing a project like this, is just having someone that understands your pain, and is willing to listen :)

We are currently using Skype to keep up on our various projects, and will basically be using a Multi-user Skype TXT chat conference to gather and organize, as skype has win, Lin, Mac, Android and IOS clients so it's easy to standardize around.
