I have passed all of he hurdles for Gender Re-assignment surgery. The VA did all of my pre-op tests and decided I needed to se a cardiologist to clear me for surgery. On the fourth of September I was cleared and now am ready for the 17th of September at 6:20 AM. My surgery will be in Bristol, Pennsylvania at the Lower bucks Hospital. Dr. Sherman leis (lease) will be performing the surgery.
I live a little over an hour from Dr. Leis's office which is in Bala Cynwyd (pronounced Kinwood), Pennsylvania. His office number is 1-610-667-1888. or you can find him on the internet under The Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery.

I know I haven't been on the site much lately. I've been busy with getting my house changed inside by repainting and adding new cabinets. the cabinets are being created without blueprints. and I have had a new floor put down on my kitchen.

I have been keeping a journal since the doctor and I made the date for surgery. I have noticed a change in my attitude and my demeanor. My letters from my Psychologist and Psychiatrist have been written and sent. My therapist wrote a letter as she wanted to be part of my GRS. I was able to do a signature loan for the surgery from my credit union. What I once thought improbable is now become reality.

Through this process of making arrangement for surgery I have been cast out of my family tree of cousins who feel I am mentally ill adjusted. To them I wrote a scathing note two days ago thanking them for their cooperation and support in a life choice that I was dealt at birth. I thanked them for being snooty and having a silver spoon stuck up their rectum. I probably overstepped my bounds but most likely hit the nail on the head and rankled a few feathers doing it.

I've become very sensitive in the past year, as well as very caring. My money is sparse helping out the less fortunate people who have entered my life. I want to enjoy myself but its sometimes rough and demanding on me and I lose sleep and my cognitive thinking goes awry. That is when I have in the home accidents. Chairs are not ladders for painting or other odd jobs. that I learned several times in the past couple of months. I've weight test the floor several times and ended up on my back and sore and stiff for a few days.

I almost thought about getting that life alert button but I wouldn't wear it so it would not be functional for me. I could put it on a stray dog and let the Alert people try and find the dog.

any way just thought I'd share. The only thing about me that will change is I'm going from an outie to an innie.

Jill...

May your surgery be successful so that you can enjoy life as you should have been built from the beginning. My surgery went flawlessly. Sure I was bruised and sore and couldn't wait to get the stent out and dilating was no fun but the resulting peace & contentment & freedom was worth it all.

Best wishes for a healthy and infection free recovery.

Ruth

May the sun always shine on your parade

With gratitude

I thank you from my heart. I have been looking forward to the surgery. I was miserable when I had my vascular surgery and was not looking forward to it. this however is something I have been waiting a long time for. A doctor in the Midwest made an error in judgment when I was born. He died seventeen years after I was born. Now the error in judgment is being corrected. Praise God.

I'm not allowed ice cream

I see an eating disorders Doctor. I am addicted to dairy products so Ice cream is out of the equation. I can have yogurt so it will be Ice tea with lemon when I can have it.

Some times

those of us who sees the world differently have a very hard time interacting with. I think the Life Alert on the Dog makes perfect sense. After all, she probably needs it more than you. Well, until you fall that is. :)

I hope that all goes well before and after.

Hugs and congratulations!

You are alway kind

Thank you, are the girls still working for you? Since I was given hormone supplements, my breast have gotten fuller and more developed. I have a good Doctor and he is well respected by the people he has treated. I'm being careful now and will be before surgery and after surgery. I'll be following the doctors orders explicitly.

Its a go for the 17th of September

I have been cleared for surgery. There are no medical problems that are relevant in keeping me from having surgery for Gender Reassignment. I check in Monday and surgery begins early in the morning on Tuesday.
