Well, I decided to try to finish one! Those that know me know my muse takes a vacation whenever I ask her for anything.

The last time she blessed me with something, I think, was in 2009. I truly wanted to finish the story in time for the contest, but it didn't fit the format, and by the time I rewrote it so it did, well, it was the weekend, and I was busy helping to finish a couple quilts that had a hard deadline for delivery. Not that I minded, sewing and quilting is my avocation, as my friends know.

Addendum 6 hrs later: Wow! I am completely blown away by the number of hits! I can't believe people are this hungry for a stand alone story, especially given the plethora of recent contributions by authors who can actually write! No, it must be down to the growth of the site. We are truly blessed by our hosts and administrators, Well Done!

BTW, if you notice a typo or bad turn of phrase, then go back to pinpoint it and find it gone, I'm still proofreading it and correcting. Just sayin'
