Drew's Meltdown

Hi All;

Sometime ago, I pulled down my story Drew's Meltdown. It is a Gaby fanfic. It takes place during/after Gaby's Trip to America. And, it's more of an alternative look - a "what might have happened" if you will.

It has been completely re-edited, and some corrections and modifications made. And I now have 15 completed chapters. There is still some distance to go, but I am now finding I have a bit of time to write, even though between my job and my union advocacy work I am busier than ever. LOL! I just added up all my travel since February 2014 and it is staggering - 19 trips to Ottawa, 1 to Toronto, 1 to Winnipeg and 1 to Victoria. And all of them were for a week at a shot. All on union business.

PB has been kind enough to allow me to take what I need about the Atlanta bike race from "All Things Denied" , because I know absolutely nothing about competitive cycling, and for that I will be forever grateful. I have been dreading writing that chapter (and yes, it's still a couple of chapters away) because of that.

I will be posting all of the chapters over the next week or ten days. After that it may take a few weeks to get the next 3 or 4 chapters out.

I didn't want to re-post anything until I knew I was going to be able to get the story finished. But, it appears my muse may again be taking up residence, so it should go fairly well.

Cheers, and thanks.

Kate

Thankyou

I read Drew's Meltdown some time ago on Maddy Bells site and was frustrated that it wasn't finished as I thought it was an excellent piece of writing. To know that I may finally read it to it's conclusion has made me very happy.
I even thought of writing an end for it myself but as I am no writer it was a foolish idea so soon abandoned.

I understand the frustration

When I took it down, I had hit a major writer's block, and simply had no idea how I was going to continue/finish the piece.

I now have a pretty clear idea of where I want it to go, the challenge will be the journey in getting there.

Thanks so much for reading it and enjoying it.

Cheers.

You realize of course.....

that if I can dust this off, someone else just might be able to dust off...oh, I don't know....maybe Timeout?

I truly have loved that story. You are quite an amazing writer John.

I am working on chapter 16 now....17 will involve the bike race.....and there will likely be a couple of chapters dealing with all the aftermath before I finish the piece.

I suspect it will end with a lot of people not being happy with the way I choose to finish the story. But hey, it's my perspective on it right?

Lovely to hear from you John.

Cheers

It's great to see this story coming back

Thank you Kate for posting this story and improving and even continuing it. It's so nice to see You and PB are still around. PB's and your Drew's Meltdown are my favourite fanfics in Gabyverse. I love them dearly for their depth and insight to a young girls mind, struggling with life and its complications.

Maybe someone can also retro PB's stories?

Thanks Saphira

Good to see you around too.

And thank you for the lovely compliment.

It will be interesting I think, where the story goes. Perhaps in a few unexpected ways. But it will be fun finishing it off.

Can't wait

Dahlia's picture

I want to thank you before this story is re-released. I loved the unfinished one, seems like so long ago now, and wanted to see the end but it never came.
Glad you are back on the keyboard again and I can't wait to read this vignette.

Dahlia

It was long ago, unfortunately

But my muse seems to be making a re-appearance which allowed me to finish off chapter 15 and get a good start into 16.

So, we shall see what develops.

Regards

Kate
