Peking, June 6, 1989:

As many of you know Tieneman Square was crowded with people early in the day. They were peacefully demonstrating and demanding liberty for their country. Suddenly tanks rolled in to break up the demonstration.

One of the tanks fired, but fortunatly the young couple it was aiming at dove away just in time. It aimed again, but agin the couple moved to safety. Through the hours of confusion this couple were able to duck away from danger and finally got away. They were tired and hungry so they entered a market and bough some food which they ate. This was the origon of:

OH NO!

GROAN!

IT CAN'T BE THAT BAD!

Note: Freedom is not free. There is always a price.

It is a long road ahead but I will finally become who I should be.

I Think It Was The Fourth

Of June 1989. It produced one of the iconic pictures of defiance with the lone man blocking the path of a tank. The Chinese government will still not acknowledge that the event ever happened. It caused a march of nearly 1,000,000 people in Hong Kong soon after, and every year since there has been a candle-light vigil to commemorate the dead. Unfortunately memories fade and the attendance is dropping. Just remember, this is the same government that's bringing you the Olympics this year.

OOPS!

Yes, it was the 4th.

You also reminded me:

A young man was at the pearly gate. He gave his name.

"You're not supposed to be here for another sixty years."

"But I'm dead," replied the youth.

"Very unusual."

"Can't you do something?"

"I'll let you into Heaven if you can tell me one brave thing you did."

"Tanks were rolling in. I stood in front of the leader. It went to it's left and I moved with it. It rolled to the right. Again I stayed with it. For a hour I wouldn't let it pass me."

"That is very brave. How long ago did this happen?"

"About five minutes ago."

Maybe our Olympic winners should give the "defiant fist" salute ( Mexico City) on the platform.
