For anybody who hadnt heard yesterday: I was in a car accident while riding with my mom, but I'm okay. Cut and bruised my leg when I hit the glove compartment, and went into PTSD shock, but got checked out and am otherwise all right. Mom's car was pretty badly damaged - trunk is a mangled mess and the impact blew out her back window, but outside of being upset mom was not hurt.

By your description...

Car you were in was hit from behind...
So there is no way for it to be because of a fault of the driver of the car you were in.
Glad to hear you and yours are OK.
"the impact blew out her back window" usually means that car is totaled...
Hope insurance companies will come up OK and will cover the cost to replace the damaged car.
Anyway, glad to hear everyone survived the accident. Hope it will not add too much to your stress.
Take care! Don't dwell on it!

Yikes

Glad you're okay! And hope your neck doesn't start hurting in a few days. :( If so, get checked out again!

Ouch!

So glad you’re OK.

Give your Mom my best wishes too.

I'll second the "Yikes".

You said you both got checked out, good; keep the records/reports.

Follow doctors directions; most know their stuff

If there were any strains/sprains involved, I'll add this: "baby" the injury for at least a week, preferably two, after you feel just fine/completely healed. Joint and ligament injuries can take quite a while to heal, give it a chance.

Think about 'shopping around' for the repairs/cost. (Long ago) my insurance company just handed me a check for the damages, and when the actual repairs bill was less, insurance company said 'keep the difference'. I have no idea, of course, how your insurance/location works.

This is where we need a 'sad face' reaction, like Facebook has. (Attention Admins: don't, you already have way too much stuff going on, making this a very nice place for us.)
