In Masks XVIII there's the following:

"Scaring someone to trigger their latent powers is the stupidest..." said Tiger, as Middleton sat, further startling him. He leaned forward, aura flickering. "Didn't you idiots learn anything from Tokyo in 1983?!"

This was a reference to a sequence in the Japanese animated feature Harmageddon. For those who may not have seen the movie, I made a music video of this several years ago, and it can be found here:

There's no sound for the first few seconds, so don't turn the volume up unless you need to after the music starts.

Be gentle; I made this with two VCRs and a CD player. :-)

For some reason, this

For some reason, this reminded me of one of Nick Pollota's Bureau 13 books.

At one point their "prison" for the weird and unusual stuff/beings gets cracked open. I recognized a lot of them from various "monster" movies. Like the one about the stone monoliths that kept growing and falling over, then growing again.

I haven't read any of the novels, but have played and run the game. Lots of fun. (If you ever wondered what branch of the Secret Service West and Gordon worked for...)

"The Monolith Monsters" is one of my favorite movies.

Just passing through...
