I would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas and hope that 2023 will be an improvement over 2022.

This has been a hectic and challenging year for me. I had great plans to release a book a month - such are the plans we make, eh?
I still am working on so many books, I might just finish a few in 2023 - I'm not being as optimistic as I was last year, as there are too many things to stop me.

But, I have actually finished one, just in time for Christmas - Fading Memories

It is a look into a dystopian future where all the things we fear might go wrong and hope won't go wrong - go wrong. Mankind runs away - heading for the stars - or a few of the lucky and wealthy ones do, leaving the rest to struggle on a planet that humans have virtually killed.

Into the mix - add one male terminal cancer patient, a cryogenic pod and a hell of a lot more time passing than was anticipated and a ship from one of the colonies returns to see if anyone is left.
At some point, someone tried to place the patient's brain inside a cyborg (synthetic) body but was interrupted.
The visitors find the result and complete the process - the problem is simple - the brain is male and the body is female...

Happy Christmas

Just bought it

Just bought it after reading the free sample. I enjoy Tanya's writing. The dialog is always sophisticated and fun with a command of the language that I wished I possessed. It's weird how I start reading with a British accent. Anyway, I look forward to reading it.

Dead right... lots, but mine would be...

....King's English with a hint of North of the border!.. if I have to be honest. If you want to get it as it comes from my brain... I saw my formative tears in Scotland, but then took the Queen's shilling and never went back (apart from the odd visit).

PS, regardless of Nicola Sturgeon - I am British and happened to come from Scotland. I personally do not think that Scotland should be independent, but that's just my opinion.

Are we talking about the definition of cyborg a blending of organic and inorganic?

Life is good. I have no idea how many times a year I re-read a Tanya Allan book, but the number is not small.

It will be nice to read a new book. Yay!

Enjoyable

That was a fun read! Any plans for a sequel?

possibly...

... the ending was left open so that if I am inspired, a sequel may follow.
