Crossdressing and Kittens

When we found a litter of kittens in our garage I had no idea they would affect my crossdressing.

A while back I commented on how they thought a fringed skirt was a kitty toy, but it goes further. I have now learned that:

Leaving any amount of stocking or pantyhose visible will result in shredded stocking or pantyhose, usually in a completely different room from where it was found.

Apron strings are kitty toys

Any skirt is a kitty toy.

The latest challenge is when they leap to the top of my computer chair, then advance downward to settle on my bosom. Having all those sharp little claws on my breast forms is unnerving. So far no leaks!

Oh, yes - dangling earrings are kitty toys when they are reclining on my bosom.

Oh yes

Oh yes, kitties can be cute to watch play and learn about their environment, as can for that matter human children (at least to a point). I find I like them best when they are living in someone elses home, as I am allergic to cats and dogs, though birds do not seem to bother me. Now fish, there is no pet dander with them and upkeep can be simple with a bit of planning. Yeah, you can't cuddle them, but they are still fun to watch.

You love them, even when they proceed to trash the place. Mum has a yellow lab, and during her first year (back in 2000) we quickly learned not to leave anything loose at tail height (labs are very good at knocking anything flying with their high speed, high powered wags!) or anything chewable on the floor. Even walls weren't immune to her jaw, until we hit upon the novel idea of chilli sauce smeared across the bits of wall she preferred chewing (obviously making sure her water bowl was full at all times for fairly obvious reasons!). It looked very ugly - this red paste on yellow walls, but it quickly did the trick :)

Obviously with objects other than walls, there's no defence other than making sure there's nothing within grabbing / wagging distance. And even now, at ten years old, we still have to batten down the hatches (so to speak) when she gets excited (e.g. when I pay a visit - to be greeted by a big yellow hairy creature grinning, grunting, wagging and jumping up and down. I think she hopes it'll encourage me to get down to her level so she can 'kiss' me - err, no thanks!)

Hot sauce

Careful not to overuse that solution. Just like humans, dogs can develop a taste for the stuff and crave it. :) My little poodle loves to have an occasional bite of something spicy, but she prefers black pepper to red. Tomatoes, chili peppers and eggplant can cause digestive upset in some dogs, so that's a worry, too.

Hugs,
Erin

and its so much fun

because Labs are well known to be puppies for minimum 18 months, and chew up anything they can get their teeth around. My brother had one that ate the leg from under his expensive dining room table. My son in law had one that ate not one, but two charger units for the old laptop I used for years. 80.00 bucks each.

Odd tastes...

(Sidenote: although I haven't lived at mum's for about five years, I'm sure most of these traits are still there from what I've observed when I've visited, so I've written in the present tense.)

Bess doesn't like eating grapes (we later found they're supposedly bad for her) - instead, like cherry tomatoes, will roll them around in her mouth a while, spit them out, pick them up again and generally play with them, but not eat them.

She's very fond of ice cream though - whenever anyone opens the freezer door, she'll be there, doing her "I'm so innocent" act, hoping whoever's foraging around will get out the tub and put a spoonful or two in her dish. She's very good at cleaning the inside of yoghurt pots, and apart from the usual doggy snacks enjoys apples (pre-sliced) and carrots. One year she discovered how to harvest (and eat) sugarbeet... needless to say, in subsequent years we've kept her on lead when walking through beet fields! She also loves eating grass... but as it causes constipation we have to watch her like a hawk when taking her off-lead through fields - if she thinks she can get away with a nibble or two she will.

Conversely, once she ate an After Eight (wafer thin chocolate mint - about 2"x2" square), complete with paper wallet, and somehow suffered no ill effects.

And someone else's dog in the neighbourhood apparently once discovered a bunch of bananas within reach while its humans were out somewhere...

Mercifully, I don't think Bessie's eaten much else that's non-consumable. Unless you count finding a box of (wrapped) chocolates in a field once. Perhaps the foil wrappers stopped her digesting them, or perhaps because they were milk chocolates there wasn't a significant level of theobromine, but despite watching her very nervously for the next week, she mercifully didn't have any ill effects.

Incidentally, despite being a typical glutton, she averages a reasonable 30kg / 5 stone.

I had a tabby

that weighed 0ver 19 pounds and she was not fat, just huge. Her big fun for the day was to wait till I fell asleep, then she would work her way up to sit on top of the room door, then leap onto my chest from the top of the seven foot doors. Her other prime entertainment was to wait until we fell asleep, then she would sneak onto the bed and work her way between us. Put her feet in my back and stretch out while extending all her claws....she thought it was great fun.

I had a similar experience

I had a similar experience at my sister's house when I stayed there for the convention. She has a new kitten who thought my skirt was a new toy, too! I was also wearing a few different things that laced up and she thought the laces were another excellent toy. She liked the cat tail I was wearing, too. ;)

Then, she kept getting in bed with me when I slept, and I'm allergic! Fortunately, she's not as bad as my sister's last cat, but it wasn't much fun when she clawed my eye! Well, the lower eyelid just below the eye, but it still didn't feel good. Especially since it swelled up a bit. I was afraid my eye would close up on me, but thankfully it didn't.

Kittens, gotta love 'em! :)
