An article in today's paper said that Swiss Bank UBC was revising its dress code. Currently, bankers are required to wear skin colored underwear, refrain from eating garlic and wear a watch because it signals "trustworthiness and a concern for punctuality". The code tells women how to apply makeup and what color stockings are acceptable.
I wonder if a crossdressing banker could get away with a skin colored bra when they line up the employees for morning underwear inspection?

Fortunately I never worked anywhere with a dress code.
At one time I was involved in the design and testing of industrial multi-head latch needle knitting machines; I decided wearing a tie could be injurious to my health if it got caught in the mechanism when the 'Stop' button was out of reach and I've rarely worn one in the 30 odd years since.
I wonder what the definition of skin-coloured underwear is. I'm nominally what is called 'white' but white underpants hardly match my skin colour. Moreover, I can't honestly say I've ever seen any under wear that does - though I can't say I've searched very thoroughly. A quick grab in passing at Marks and Sparks is my usual shopping technique :)
I wonder if a pocket watch and heavy gold chain spread across a smart waistcoat is as acceptable as a wrist watch? Though I can understand a Swiss company being enthusiastic about watches in general.
What a strange world it is. And I always thought 'bankers' was spelt with a 'W'. Except for Simon Cameron, of course ;)
