I am very proud of this effort. I believe it reflects not only my best work as an author, but it is special to me because it helped me break out of some of my own restrictions regarding beliefs about myself and others. If I could have you take away anything from the story, it would be that life is what we make it; it is not dictated by circumstances or even the beliefs and expectations of others, but it is what we do with what we were given, and what we do with those circumstances, both good and bad.
