As an antidote to all the soppy romantic songs that will be filling the airwaves today, here's a few for the benefit of the happy singletons among us:

Females (pretty unambiguous!)

Males (yes, it's as cheesy as heck, but there aren't many from a male POV!)

In general (miles better than the original soundtrack!)

There are numerous lists on the 'net that mention others, but Beyonce's "Single Ladies" has the rather hypocritical refrain "put a ring on it", NKOB's "Single" is all about being a 4-minute boyfriend, REM's "Shiny Happy People" are holding hands and encouraged to throw their love around, while numerous others are either about happiness in general or the singer's happy because they've just broken up (a category that could possibly include "I Want To Break Free" and "I Will Survive")...

Does anyone have any other credible suggestions?

Credible suggestion?

Prolly not... I actually kind of still like happy romantic songs, whether I'm single or not. Bon Jovi and 'It's my life' is prolly the best of the single and happy songs for me.

In the same vein as IML, my suggestion is also about taking ownership of your life in a positive way. It's one of my favourite songs (from the soundtrack to a great film as well) for when I want something uplifting to listen to and it's "When life gives me lemons I make lemonade" by 'The boy least likely to'. It's just so catchy dang it. :-)
