I am trying not to take this as a sign that whenever things go too well that disaster has to strike in my life, but I am quite upset.

Last night, while I was at work, I got a call from my roommate Junior. He simply asked me to come out to the road by the center where we work.

At first, I thought he was in the parking lot, but he was actually on the street, pulled off to the side of the road.

I didn't think much. My first thought was "oh great, the van is busted. I was thinking maybe a hose blew or something like that. I couldn't see much because of hedges, but, I expect these things from life.

I finally made it through the hedges by a tree and that's when I saw it. "Hank" my beloved van which had been with me on many adventures, was stricken. As in struck. As in someone ran into him with great force and made my vehicle look more like an open can of tuna than a car.

The story (which I believe) is that Junior was making a left into the center when a car driven by a mother fucking jackass tried to pass on the left and obliterated the car from rear quarterpanel to headlight (yes, headlight, all the way up front). and then the coward drove off. Hank will not recover from this one. the damage is too extensive. Mechanically the only thing wrong is the front wheel is bent. Could be the axle or tie rods or everything. Don't know, but the door don't shut so the point is moot.

The other issue... I don't have collision on the van. So... I am screwed. Junior is more screwed (no van, no job, I'm just affected on Sundays)

So, I am not happy.

BTW Junior went to the hospital. Don't know how hurt he is. He was fine when I saw him on the side of the road, but became very sore.
