Typing "The End", and "To Be Continued" was something I didn't think I'd ever do. I've written before; I've done writing in one form or another ever since I learned how to put letters together into words. But I've never actually written anything beyond twenty pages or so (for fiction, that is). This has been a very exciting, sometimes frustrating, but mostly enlightening experience. I think I like it :)

Here's another big thank-you to everyone who kept reading to the last page, for all the great advice, eye-opening critique, and clever speculations that sometimes had me in giggles. You're all wonderful people, and I'd love to write for you again soon!

All the hugs,

- Melly

Thank You!

Thank you for that amazing story. I love the world you created with it and can't wait to read the next book.

No, thank YOU!

I'm happy that you enjoyed it! I'll take a small break to let my brain cool down again, but I keep filling up my notepads with ideas and scenes I want to use in the next book :)

Worldbuilding!

I'm growing fond of it, too. I've got this ever expanding gazetteer where I add details about nations, religion, magic societies, important cities, random people, natural phenomenons, strange beasties, cake, etc :)

I even made a map! Well, actually, I made two maps. One was in MS Paint, and looked like the finger-painting of a crazy person, the other is much nicer from a fantasy map design program I borrowed from a friend who uses it for her campaigns :)

Thanks to Erin

... the commentators here are at least somewhat civilized, most of the time.

As long as the story is not too controversial, it is usually possible to get some useful feedback on a story here at BC.

All the hugs, Erin!

What do you mean, my story isn't controversial! There was not ONE mention of cake OR chocolate in the entire piece! Blasphemy!

Joking aside, I can't thank everyone enough for all the help I received in the process of writing that story. The encouragement, and criticism, went a long way from turning this lurker into a tottering author with a novelette of her own :)
