What ever happened to Lilith Langtree?
I have enjoyed so much of her writing, and it has just stopped.
I hope she is well, and will continue.
She offers us so much.

She posted a comment recently, so she's still alive...

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

She was logged on last week

Richard

Every day

I hear she logs on virtually every day.

It's true, I do; barring ISP, weather, etc. problems, I'm here every day to answer PM's, comment questions, that don't pertain to when I'm posting the next chapter of (insert story name here).

Because I am so incredibly tired of hearing about how whatever story I'm working on is good, or okay, "But (insert story name) is better and you should work on that one instead."

So... wish granted. No story will be posted until it is complete. This isn't me taking my ball and going home. Instead, this is me not wanting to go into a very long-winded explanation about my creative process and how it works, because I've said it so many times before to deaf and disbelieving ears. The only reason I haven't pulled (unpublished, whatever) my current uncompleted stories is because that would be rude.

Write the story that you most desperately want to read.

actually

I found I liked a fair amount of your stories myself. And yes you haven't seemed to have posted in awhile but that is entirely up to you if you wish to do so or not.

the retcon universe is, quite simply, fun to read. There is quite a few different characters not yet written about that can be added.

Keep up the good work

I support any process whereby

I support any process whereby we (the people ;) ) get to see more of your fantastic writing. Take as long or short a time to write how you want to write -- at the end of the day I am just grateful when I get to read one of your stories.

Good for you!

I recall seeing you pop in and we've talked briefly now and then. I'm glad that you're writing for yourself in your own time. Glad that you're okay! Much Love to you!!!!

I think...

...at least part of the reason for people's grumbles was due to your creative process: it appeared as though you'd work on a story and post chapters until you hit an impasse ("Where the heck do I go from here?! I had ideas a month ago but they've now evaporated. B*gg*r."), then start work on another, returning to the former at a later date, several stories down the line. I can understand both points of view (you like to post new chapters as soon as they've been written, fans like to see a regular posting schedule), but as you say, you may get better fan reactions if you wait until you've completed a story (or two), then start publishing it (them) on a regular schedule.

Maybe at some indeterminate date in future, The Center or Comics Retcon universes may be revived - or you're bonkers enough to write more tales for the DarkRealms Universe :D

Perhaps in the meantime, post occasional non-specific update blogs along the lines of "I'm currently actively writing 3 stories - one's about half way through, one's nearing completion, one's just started." That way, you've giving fans some idea of what you're up to without revealing exactly what you're working on (or whether the story that's half way complete in update 1 is the same as the story that's nearly complete in update 2!).

Or maybe, just maybe, create a new universe with a scene-setting story, then move to more of a curator role than a writer role...

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

Update

Okay, here's my update.

785,824 words have been written that have not yet been published. No idea when anything will be finished, so obviously no idea when anything will be released.

34 completed stories
14 outstanding stories
62 outlines, fleshed out ideas, half written stories waiting in the wings that might or might not see the light of day.

And that is just on this site alone.

Currently, I'm working on a companion/sequel piece to Bound to Serve the Dark for NaNoWriMo and working on the outstanding stories when I get the chance. I've had a big Star Wars bug that needs sating recently, so that's taking precedent for this month.

That's about it. Unless a short piece idea is burning in my gut I pretty much don't write those anymore. The last one I did was Locker Room Tales, so that should give you an idea about how often I kick those out. I'm not saying I won't write them in the future, but I have no plans to do so.

I'll simply look forward to

when you're ready to post something new or a completion of something already out there. Thanks for the update and sorry to bug you.

I'm happy

that you are well and that you are writing. I shall wait as patiently as I can until it is time. You just can't rush those muses which why my own stuff often takes so long to get done. :)

PS: You experiences remind me of some I've had as a Game Master. "I don't like that game, run this!" That game system sux! Use this one." "You need to run a game with this in it." "When are you going to run 'X' game again?" "Why can't my lawful good cleric have the plus five Holy Avenger 'mace'?"

Basically what Grover said.

Being the grouchy old fart I am , I gotta say that I am glad she answered as she did..We should be honored she still posts as she does after the crap she put up with...I say You do as you like young lady this net is still very free

Lilith, You are why I visit.

Dear Lilith,

After reading your stories at Beverly's Balcony years ago, I found Bigcloset while searching for more of them. I reread "Passion and Purpose", "I am Like Water", "The Center" and others when I need to relax and get my head together. Thanks so much and I look forward to more LL.

Best Wishes,
Larimus

Just for the record, Lilith, I am far more concerned that you are doing alright than what you are (or are not) writing. Life takes it's toll on all of us so when somebody goes quiet it worries me. Be well and be safe, hon.
