It Was Cold

Here one morning. I had to wear full fingered gloves, instead of the all year long type 1/3 finger bicycling gloves. I've been wearing sort of heavy sports tights over my biking shorts when the starting morning temp is under 60° F.

Actually, one night there was frost on cars and ice on puddles. Lots of radiative cooling here in the desert (ie with clear skies). Surfaces exposed to the sky can get colder than the air. Biking causes extra wind chill, that's how it's tolerable in the summer.

Hugs and Bright Blessings,
Renee

Electra?

What? You're naming snow now? Got to be a media-manufactured thing. Come on, we don't name tornados, and the big ones usually cause a lot more damage. When the snow melts, that solves most of the problems with a snow storm. Not so with a tornado, the infrastructure has to be totally replaced from the ground up. Homes, businesses, hospitals, police and fire agencies - gone. All gone. The Moore tornado was almost a year and a half ago, the hospital was destroyed. Last week a "new" hospital was opened in a grouping of prefab buildings. A real hospital is at least five years in the future. Pretty much every problem a snow storm brings also happens in a tornado, only tornado damage is more severe and takes far longer to repair and requires more funding.

Yes, I know Karen....

It's a Weather Channel thing and yeah it seems silly so please don't hold it against me sweetie! We had a total of 8" of snow here with a couple hours of freezing rain at the end for good measure, not really bad. Just made for a LONG day or two.

Cow Hampshire???

You are from Cow Hampshire? (says the person living in the People's Democratic Republic of Massachusetts) :)
