Ribbon Lament

Printer-friendly version

A mighty man, Tall and broad
Muscles of steel, he could carry his load
Fist like a hammer, arms like a vise
Move like a train, get out of his path

Soft satin skin and red ruby lips
Curly blonde hair flowed down her back
Bright red ribbon behind her left ear
gown of red velvet and ocher lace

He's of the day; She's in the night
A curious balance, that never feels right

A man known to all
Girl has to hide
He Stands so tall
She feels like a child

Living day to day, deploring his fate
Nor caring to see what goes on his plate
Tried flipping a coin, decide which way
Landed on it's side
Guess it's better this way

I know I feel exactly like this. Thank you for putting into verse how I feel.
