and no place to go!

- well not until tomorrow afternoon when I get the coach back to Cabotville.

Despite the disappointment of missing my kidlings this trip and not seeing more of my friends, I have spent a couple of good days with other friends, had two quite good rides on my best bike and got a lot of tidying/sorting of stuff at the lock up done. Maybe the weather could've been a bit less 'in your face', the temperature has been almost down to single digits with strong winds and a fair bit of wet, but all in all its been good to have a change of scenery for a few days.

So what have I been up to since Wednesday?

Well Thursday I spent best part of the day on more sorting, labelling and moving stuff in the lock up, you can actually get to most stuff and I don't need to open every box to find stuff now. There's a lot more to do but I've made significant progress, my next trip north will see more advances but of course knowing what is in a box is one thing, extricating the good from the chaff is a whole other thing! The first 'Ebay' stuff is in my case so that's something to push on with back in Brizzle, hopefully there will be some income from it, not much I know but every little helps!

Friday was a second day out on the bike, another 90+km but this time out into the more level and rolling countryside of Sherwood Forest. The sun was out most of the day and it wasn't particularly cold but the wind gusting up to 30mph meant the jacket stayed on even if the legs got a good airing. Only a bit over 700m of up but despite the wind the speed was a bit higher although I did feel quite bleh afterwards.

On to Saturday then, a damp day spent in the good company of Pod Racer who made the 80 mile trip in his tiny car to come and see me. between eating and drinking we fitted in a tram ride into Sheffield and a visit to the main City museum at Weston Park where we spent several hours enjoying the recently refurbished displays of everything from Sheffield life to local flora and fauna by way of the rich archaeological heritage of the region. I think its fair to say that we both enjoyed the visit, the somewhat damp journeys home less so.

Today has been all about tying up loose ends, the bike has returned to the lockup whilst other stuff came away, a bit of shopping for stuff I've been struggling to get in Wessex then of course cramming everything into my case for the journey south tomorrow. Yes, I'm a bit sad to be leaving but I'm also looking forward to returning to Maddy 24/7!

There is new Gaby today, chapter 24 of Ontario, Detective Bond. It's almost just an ordinary day at the kiosk for our Gabs but will her sleuthing skills gain the knowledge that is worrying her grey matter like a whippet with a rabbit? You'll need to read it to find out.

That's all for today,
