So, I have been slaving away for years, secretly writing a romance novel. When I write, sometimes I really get into the story and actually try to live it, mostly to write the realisim. Sometimes I worked so hard that the windows in my office would fog up, depriving me of view of, harbor with huge plastic boat sitting in it. Or maybe I was sitting in steaming tub with rubber ducky and writing with laptop? Man, I got the good stuff this time! Woooeeeee!

So, I called the book "50 Shades", goodness those are a lot of sunglasses to carry around.

the title would suggest you have a reference for comparison.

huh?

I've waited for hours to see if there would be a reply. What are you talking about? Is there another work out there called 50 shades? Did you drop your computer out the window and someone took it with the only copy of the file? Did you mean to write more but have internet problems and we got only half the post?

I remember a few years ago someone actually stealing one of my works and publishing it under a different title and using there name. In fact, when I saw it posted on Fictionmania, I originally felt bad because I thought I may have copied from them. They didn't steal the whole book, but they pretty much stole most of the main scenes from the opening chapter. Erin caught it on this site, and that person gave me credit in their comment sections. But the story was posted elsewhere and it still upsets me that I didn't even get a mention (it was even worst when people compared it to my work and then said the copy was better even though it was pretty much word for word plagiarism).

But again, can you elaborate on what you are talking about when you see your book was stolen.

Writing is what you do when you put pen to paper, being an author is what you do when you bring words to life

Plagerism

Had one of my (few) stories copied/ripped off once over at Harry Potter Fanfiction. Really ticked me off at the time but then I realised, my version was better than the copy. :)

You've all been well and truly had!

I think it is really funny that one of the Hollywood money mongers has finally taken a story straight from ASSTR.org and put it in print in main stream print market. LOL. What a low brow idea!

And yes they were RayBans. LOL I have become fully deranged.

Venitians

Venitians can have 50 shades? however they are very straight and boring types. But if they pull in the same direction they can be enlightening.

What can you expect coming from Venus!

Hugs Gwen.
