He was a 6ft 6in mountaineer, with a passion for solo climbs. He was also a cross-dresser who went by the name of Crystal.
Having read this story, it would be very easy for me to get carried away with commenting on how ridiculous ‘his’ views are. To say:
"People who think they are a woman trapped in a male body are, in my opinion, completely deluded. I certainly was."

I appreciate this is ‘off topic’ as it were, but I was most surprised to read this article from AA Gill in today’s Sunday times, regarding his dyslexia. He is a perceptive writer whose work I have enjoyed for many a year.
Perhaps some of you here suffer from dyslexia or know someone who does, so please take a few minutes to read what it says, many of us can empathise with the youngsters he meets as well as his own experience.

On Thursday evening, I was able to go with a friend and her daughter to see Carol Ann Duffy, the Poet Laureate give a reading on National Poetry Day.
It was held at the University of Winchester and, naturally enough was a full house.;

I have just finished reading The Exploits of Danby Croker by R Austin Freeman once described by the writer Antonia Fraser as a perfect TV novel. But is it?
On Thursday I was sitting with my friend Anne in a pub drinking a milky coffee, Anyway, after we had managed to catch up on what we had being doing over the past two weeks since we last met, the subject changed to what we were reading at the moment. I mentioned that I was just finishing off 'The Lost Continent' by Bill Bryson and was just going to start 'Labyrinth' by Kate Mosse. I admitted that I was sidetracked as usual by reading some stories from this site, when she asked me a good question.
