I present to thee, a new Gaby chapter and the 2nd edition of Gaby Book 5!

So okay it doesn't quite rhyme but what do you expect for this money?

So yes, I've been slaving over the 2nd edition of Gaby - Bits all afternoon - I really do need to sort out the computer business, the new Kindle version should be up shortly and hopefully the first Amazon print version should be available later.

When it was first released this volume created quite some controversy as it features a series of vignettes of Gaby's first few months in Germany rather than a day by day account. Some of these threads are picked up in later volumes, others stand as they are, cliffhangers and all. You still get all the illustrations and of course a character listing pertinent to this volume.

Next up, your FREE chapter, Fan Mail. Gaby being, well Gaby, things never run entirely smoothly for long and just for a change our girl is doing the foot and mouth thing with some aplomb!

Away from Miss Bond, I'm continuing to have a weird New Year. I mentioned last time that I'd gone a bit 'Trixie', well that's proving to be a bit of an adventure. TBH, its not so much the pink hair but the new facial jewellery that's making me a little self conscious - I'm getting a strong feeling for how Alex/Trixie must have felt when he awoke poked with holes, and I have far fewer!

The other big thing in my life of course is bikes - I mentioned my break downs the other day, well it turns out that repairs are currently beyond my income level. The good news is that my landlady is lending me a mount so that I can still get out, you really are a star Bev and I really cannot thank you enough. And that goes to all my other benefactors too - I really couldn't've survived the last few months without you.

So with a borrowed bike I got out for a ride yesterday, down over the Mendips with a climb of Cheddar Gorge thrown in for good measure. That is certainly a test of your mettle, I cleaned it yesterday, no small feat as the grade tops out at 26% and I'm no spring chicken plus it came over 70km into my ride. I hadn't intended a particularly long excursion but there were over 150 x 1000m showing on the computer when I finally got back best part of 7 hours after setting out. (okay, i'll admit I went astray crossing Brizzle - again!)

Well I think that's about it for today

Love the update...

but I'm amazed at the distance. I managed 200Km this -week-, (which is quite good for me) never mind what you did in one day...

I guess you've given me something to work towards!!

is pretty impressive, don't for one second imagine my rides are normal!

I have been known to get carried away and do 200km+ in a day but there's not enough light this time of year unless I turn up the turbo! (those who have ridden at the Gabycons will attest that my slow is actually fairly quick!) I certainly don't measure anyone else by my riding, I consider it a win if someone rides at all.

If its any consolation, Gaby does her racing on about 200km a week - often less.
