The Warrior from Batuk
by Aardvark

Zhor is a planet where the mysterious Overlords rule, where men and women live for centuries and are permitted to be themselves. There, a young warrior's love and dreams are shattered when he wakes up one morning as a serum girl, a beautiful woman with the DNA of one of Zhor's finest slaves. Her old life destroyed, she must not only fight to hold on to her identity, as she is forced to make a new life as a woman, but also to keep her freedom, not easy when her body insists that she would be happiest branded and collared.

And that's only the start.

An absolutely wonderful story!

Those of you who are new here and have not read this story, it is just wonderful. In my opinion, this is how writing should be done. Enjoy!

test readers,

This is a long story and the characters are far from cardboard. You have betrayal, spies, court intrigue, murder, counter murder, love, lost love, love reborn, sacrifice, alien tech, the good the bad and the ugly and shades in-between all focused around one of the most interesting heroes of any story I have ever read here or on dead trees.

John in Wauwatosa

P.S. Hang in there as a reader, the early chapters set up and explain much of what happens later. One of them is particularly hard on our heroine -- I cringed some and wondered "what the hell are you doing, aardvark" -- but it proved necessary to explain how she acts later. She is one remarkable person, before after and long after her transformation. This may be a long story but every bit has its purpose.

This one is well worth the effort. This could easily be a mainstream fantasy novel if not for the TG, which is integral to the story. A pity the mainstream press is so timid. This is a great tale, period!

P.P.S. This is a revised post from my original this morning. Man, I cannot type BEFORE my morning coffee!

On my Kindle

Assembled the book into one file and put it on my Kindle. The comments sound like it will be a great read. Now to find time. Thanks for bringing this one to the top of the collection. I like the way older stories are being pulled back up so they can get the attention they deserve.

Top story

I consider this story one of the best free stories I've ever read. And - contrary to some other stories I like - it's actually finished.

After 31 chapters, I want more

It's Gor, only well written, with coherent plot, and characters you actually want to succeed, (and a TS element).

I'm glad this was reposted, since I hadn't come across it before.
