I guess I'm kinda a pill when it comes to typing. Especially when it involves a blog or a PM. I've been wishing we had a method of using Emojis in blogs and messages. I finally figured out a way to do it, although it's a workaround.

It's a serious workaround, especially in PMs, but it does the job. 1F601.png

old school

I use the old school method. :) works but I prefer, :o) , of course there are variations. ;o) for a tease, or :oP if you feel like sticking out your tongue.

No emojis?

Are you sure they don't work?

I think they do ... thats what unicode is for ... just take a look at https://unicode.org/emoji/charts/full-emoji-list.html

OK, I see now, I got an error message from varnish when trying to save this comment although reviewing it worked fine. :-(
So it's back to the goold old ASCII based emojis (which we called simply "smileys" back in the day) from the good ol' times of usenet etc. ...

I started out with smileys

I started out with smileys back when you logged on through Compuserve, Aol, or Netscape. Of course before that, we had BBS's where we left text messages for our friends. I ran one myself. Was kinda neat.

I have been spoiled, however with the current idea of emoticons, or emojis. Whatever they want to call them these days.
