Jingle Bells

Jingle all the way!--break-->

So the second week of Advent has seen slightly more settled weather hereabouts, mostly dry and even a spot of sunshine! I've had my first Chrimbo card, from my Grandson (well Mummy had to do the writing bit), I just have to work out how to get his presents up to Yorkshire - there are so many! I think I have a plan, do you think the USS Enterprezzie will be able to do the honours?

Looking for a story

While listening to Terry Goodkind's "The Nicci Chronicles #1" sequel to his "Sword of Truth" series something was said about misunderstanding, misconception, misinterpretation or misperception of information, what is not important

I'm pretty sure that the story was here at BCTS

Story:- Fantasy, involves magic and mythical beings
Setting:- Modern World (I think)

Scene:- Protagonist's elder sibling jumps in front of the attack of the younger and gets hit

paraphrased dialogue

A World of MicroSoft Pain

Credit card notification on a Friday afternoon it was being used. Okay, try and get hold of any help on the weekend, not happening. It's through my bank so I stopped in Monday morning to see what they could find out. Dozens of ten dollars charges were being constantly added to it constantly. Why ten dollars? The date and the security code isn't required if the purchase is under ten dollars. Same reason for the Friday afternoon beginning of the hits. They had the card number but not the security numbers or the date.

The many things I have to be thankful for.......

As I lay here trying to sleep, I started thinking about my life - as I am often prone to do. In light of the fact that technically it is Thanksgiving, being nearly 1:30 AM, I started looking at the things that I have to be thankful for.

First, my family is healthy and safe - which in this time and place is something not to be taken lightly. Given that my spouse, two of my sons, and myself all suffered through Covid-19 in late March and early April, and that we are all doing fine now, I am very thankful for the fact that everyone is healthy.

RIP Jan Morris

Jan Morris, a very famous trans author, as well as one of the earliest major public figures to undergo SRS, just passed away. She was 94. I only discovered her writing last year, while working on a college paper, but reading her autobiography, Conundrum, was a blend of heart-wrenching and inspiring.

Quebec author not guilty of creating child pornography

Some time ago there was a blog post here about a Quebec author, Yvan Godbout, who was charged with creating child pornography because his dark retelling of Hansel and Gretel included a rape scene.

The trial has now been completed and M. Godbout has been acquitted of all charges. The judge in the case also ruled that ruled that certain articles of Canada's child pornography laws cast too wide a net, targeting works of literature that don't endorse or promote pedophilia.

What's with this pop up at the top of every page?

Everything seem to be working alright, but it seems to be slow.

Please help me keep my home

Hi there from one of those BCTS team lurkers. It's Jamie again.

For those who dont know me, before I got really sick in the last few months, I was Erin and Doppler Press' office manager. Lately I've just been struggling to survive.

I'm asking for help again. I have lost the ability to move and feel my legs. We have to pay our rent this month, give 30 days notice, and find something new so I can come home. Now, I have a live in caretaker who is absolutely wonderful (and is also part of the trans community), but she doesnt get paid when I'm in the hospital.

Dress Nice or just put something on

Yesterday I made the 330 mile round trip to Amarillo VA. Lots of questions from the nurses all things transgender and how I got my name. I explained, four hundred years ago Barbie was a boy’s name in Germany. Today it is considered a girl’s name. Kinda like the story of my life. They were all really nice. I pray a few more understand we are human and not monsters after they had a chance to talk and visit with me. Barbie isn't what is on my military records, it is what everyone called me. Hopefully I dispelled a lot of the MSM and tabloid lies and misinformation.

Dr. Kristie Explains what Trans is and isn't

How many times have I beat the drum, no two transgender is alike. Dr. Harry Benjamin wanted a one size fits all and everyone followed up with the same wrong concept. Whether you have or haven't transitioned, whether you want to or are accepting the circumstances doesn't mean a darn thing. What matters is do you accept yourself. What you feel about yourself and what you project is what people think of you even when at times they are looking at a complete opposite picture.

National Treat for Hallowee'n

Oh yes, those of us in England at least had an unwelcome gift last night, the removal of November from the 2020 calendar! -break-->Yep, seems that from Wednesday we join France and Germany in a new national Covid lockdown in the vague hope that there will be Eid, Xmas and New Year in December. So its back to furloughs, empty streets, closed stores and no use of public transport, difference is, the weather may not be so clement and the smile and carry on we saw in the spring will, I'm sure, quickly turn to frustration as 'daily' exercise is less of an option in cold, wet weather.

Threat By Text going around

Another texting scam going around.

In a nutshell it is the 'you have been talking to one of my girls' and 'I belong to a strong gang' and you will get killed if you don't contact me and pay for the girls time.

I know it is a scam and definitely will not respond in any shape or form as once you do any such thing you are done for.

Intellectually I know it is a scam but it still triggers that wave of flight and fight response which I am processing.

In Summary: Don't respond to these kinds of random threats!

Perhaps I have lived too long.......

Or maybe I’m just being maudlin. More likely it’s just the bottom of my cycle and I’m being hormonal.

I find myself losing friends slowly, apparently destined to be the last one. Consigned to turn out the lights and lock the door on my way out.

Am I no better than the legendary albatross? Losing friends simply by making friends? Am I no better than a modern day red death? Killing people by the simple act of getting to know them?

Makeup Isn't for Sissies

Couple months back I realized how much out of touch with current makeup fashions I had become when I began looking for a lipstick color to replace one I had used for years. There are a couple names for what I was searching for but obviously Frosted Peach, or Iced Peach is no longer a fashionable lipstick color. I tried multi variations of color combinations with no luck. I finally found what I wanted on one of those trips to OKC.
