I suspect that losing her baby will affect Amber more than she knows.
Much more has happened since Amber was aware of the world outside her room. That is so clear. And from her journey in the void, I believe much more has happened inside Amber than she is currently aware. Things have changed. Dramatically.

Yeah, there are a lot of changes happening here, and you are right, a lot that happened off page which will come to light. I hope you like what Amber takes away from the experience.
Of course, without the baby in her, there's no reason she can't become a man again and end the Amber story arc, right? :P
