It was a simple idea.
Now that Ronnie’s sister had gone off to college, she’d left a hole in the varsity cheerleading squad. A hole that everyone agreed Ronnie could fill perfectly, benefitting the school and continuing a family tradition. Ronnie could even fit into Janet’s old uniforms!
When the coach and the squad presented Ronnie with the “modest proposal,” there seemed to be only one problem. Ronnie was a boy.
It’s another of Melanie Brown’s popular gender-bending romps as Ronnie tries to fit in on the cheerleading squad and deal with the predictable problems. Mostly the boys (especially the bad boys) who want to date him—er, her?

Thank you for the great review! I'm glad you enjoyed the book.

A page turner
I loved this book. A great story with wonderful characters though I wanted to shake Ronnie once in a while, though maybe Melanie wanted that kind of reaction. But when it came to the ending you had me cheering for Gary and Ronnie. Well done, Melanie!
P.S. - I also finished re-reading "Office Bet", which I hadn't read since it first appeared here on BC. While "Office Bet" is great, "A Modest Proposal" is better. To borrow a phrase - "You've come a long way baby!"
